Dash Update
Here is an update on Dash, from his Mama:
"Looks like Dash is a-okay. He had his repeat ultrasound this morning and it shows no changes from the one on Sunday. The part of his stomach they were worried about is on the "large side of normal" but still within normal range. Since he's doing better they're not going to worry about it unless he starts exorcist vomiting again.
Went for his 2 week appt today and he now weighs 7 lbs, 9 oz. Little pig!"

I'm glad that Dash is doing better.
Jumping back to the holding-back issue, my cousin went to "readiness". Gwinnett County schools back in the day used that non-PC term for the classes of folks who had done kindergarden and weren't quite ready for first grade yet. Long story short, my cousin was smart before, smart after and now is an orthopaedic surgeon with degrees (MS) from Stanford and (MD) Vanderbilt. I don't think the readiness hurt him socially or academically and probably helped both because he was more mature, more coordinated and better adapted for school and social settings than those of us who went straight through. Every kid is different, though, so you have to do what you think will work for you and Rollie. That may be different from my kid or your neighbor's kid or whoever. Good job on doing your school research.
Thanks, Steph! That makes me feel much better. You are right, too -i think you really have to take a look at each individual kid. I am pretty sure we are doing the right thing for Rollie, and he is the only one I am concerned with. :-)
Thanks for the comment, Anne. That mirror really was bad and I was having a bloated day. I was proud of myself for transcending the negativity. : )
Steph, you look great - screw the mirror. Just stay away from it. :-)
