This is Not Surprising

Your Personality is Somewhat Rare (ISTP)

Your personality type is reserved, methodical, spirited, and intense.

Only about 6% of all people have your personality, including 3% of all women and 8% of all men

You are Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, and Perceiving.

How Rare Is Your Personality?

Camille is the only other person I know who shares my interest in this personality test stuff, but at least I know one of you will read to the end.
I swear, every time I take a variation of the Myers-Briggs personality test, I get a slightly different result. It seems that I score right in the middle for Introverted/Extroverted, so depending on how I am feeling a certain day, one or the other comes up. I also score in the middle on the Perceiving/Judging one, so that also changes. I am always an ST, though. This one (ISTP) pops up most often, though, so it is pretty close to the way I am.
When I lived in Denver, everyone in my small office had to take this thing. Then we all had to compare our results, with the help of some consultant, and the idea was for it to help us understand each others' working styles and to work better together. Instead, we made fun of each others' freakishness of personality, discussed who should be fired based on their profile, and talked about who was most likely to come in and shoot up the place. Which could totally be an episode of The Office.

The last time I took one of these tests, it said I was an ISTJ, but the test you linked to tagged me as an ISTP. Unlike you, though, I'm pretty sure I'm firmly planted on the "Introverted" side of the I/E line. I've never worked in an office where we had to do this, but I suppose that I've had to do some other equally goofy things (e.g. a wasted day in a Franklin-Covey seminar) in the interest of providing a reason for consultants to live.

My I vs. E is directly proportional to how much I'm drinking when I take the test. I think you are definitely an introvert. :-)

Franklin - Covey seminar: so, like, you wasted a whole day learning how to use a daytimer? Ha! The irony.

Hey - I've been to one of those Franklin Covey things too!

Anyway, I'm usually an INFP when I take these but this pegged me as an extrovert which I guess I am more of than I used to be.

My personality stands out from the avergae person's because of my high curiosity level, high emotional reactivity level (really, asshole?), my high need for CONTROL (wonder where I got this one?) and my high empathy/sensitivity level.

leelee, that is funny - totally pegs you. Esp. the emotional reactivity and empathy/sensitivity part. Funny how different we are.

Wonder what mom and dad would be on this test? Dad is definitely an E.

Here's what I got: Your personality type is somewhat rare. Your personality type is enthusiastic, giving, cautious, and loyal.

Only about 8% of all people have your personality, including 9% of all women and 6% of all men
You are Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving.

It's funny to me that yours changes depending on the day. I purposely try to change my answers and I'm still ALWAYS an ENFP. We also had to do this at Home Depot, and I thought it was odd that people would "proudly display" their personality types as if one were better than another. Stupid. I'm not surprised that you are an ST, my opposite. Coulda told you that. You have a lot of traits that I could stand to have myself sometimes.

So, you and Lisa are similar. And you both put up with me. I think the reason mine changes is because i am kind of middle of the road on the extroverted/introverted thing, and the same with the judging/perceiving.
Right back at ya about the traits you could stand to have - I think everyone agrees that I could be a little more sympathetic, sensitive, and empathic. Alas, I am a bitch.

Ha quizzes are fun!
Here is mine:

Your personality type is optimistic, curious, enthusiastic, and open.

Only about 4% of all people have your personality, including 3% of all women and 5% of all men.
You are Extroverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Perceiving.

IDK: extroverted, enthusiastic and open are probably about right.--Since it seems like almost like a compulsion for me to talk to people. Being quiet, reserved nearly kills me. I try but I just can't do it.
Don't know about all the rest.

I did have a hard time answering are you more likely to be sensitive or serious? I guessed and went with sensitive since the idea of me being serious made me giggle.

Good choice. I never think of you as serious. We are similar, I think, at least in some ways.

I am also ISTP, so we share that. I also had to do this as part of a workplace "team-building" exercise. We did this test and then had to pretend we were all on a lifeboat with limited supplies and decide how to get rescued. There were no points for resorting to cannibalism, my recommendation. But you gotta do what you gotta do. For some reason my coworkers elected me the lifeboat leader, sucks to be them. The captain doesn't get eaten.

Jason, I would have helped you eat the others, then when it was down to us two, I would have overthrown your leadership and taken the lifeboat to a nice beach somewhere, where hot guys in breechcloths would serve me margaritas with which to wash our fellow passengers down.
